I want to randomly say that, I hate that in English, everyone gets mad and corrects you when you write a "passive sentence". Which is when the subject goes after the verb/object, I suppose. As in there just now! A non-passive/correct sentence would be "Which is, I suppose when the subject...yada-yada" or something.

I don't know if it's a Russian thing, with me being used to switching every god damn thing around, or I just think like Yoda.

Oh! One page of the Toxic Bras, I've managed to finish. Working on the rest. I'll only show you guys the first page, because I'm very proud of it. I may add some textures to some of the background for a more gritty feel, but only if it doesn't make it too busy, which is what I fear. There's also a typo, I will fix, and the tarantula is disappearing into the background! But, other than that it's pretty cool, I think. I'm extremely proud <:

On a random as hell note, I've dropped out of college - well at least SCAD, because I was failing and I couldn't afford it and I hated it so much. So, if you tell me off, you just suck.

Eh SCAD's overrated anyway and doesn't get people jobs. I say you made the right choice, specially if you hated it!

Skills and a well padded portfolio are more important anyway

I just had to comment on this. Do people really give you a hard time over passive sentences? A passive sentence can still very much be 'correct english'. I see so many people online who post things that can barely be considered english, and i'm pretty sure it's because they're all teenagers who don't give a shit, not that it isn't their first language.

Like the other day when I was looking up what a funny NPC was for in warcraft, someone posted this : This machine is for ppl that gets up on the roof then shoot on ppl... guards cant reach them do the machine does the job

That's not english....that's just retarded. You've just touched on a rather big pet peeve of mine. I hate how 'leet speak' and shitty grammar are quickly taking over. A passive sentence should be the least of people's worries.

I agree completely with what Snoot has said. There is nothing 'incorrect' about passive sentences. If it wasn't okay to use them, they wouldn't have their own name and classification. They'd simply be called wrong.

The problem with passive sentences is not in their use, but rather their over-use, and this only tends to be frowned upon when writing stories, where the passive voice can become monotonous on the reader, making a story unentertaining to read.

That is, starting every sentence with such things as "Johnny then...", "Jane opened...", "He started...", "She watched...", etc...

Such writing does not draw the reader into the story, but merely tells the reader what is happening; which is why the passive voice is frowned upon when used too much.

But for general writing or when used more sparingly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with passive sentences.

As for dropping out of college, don't let it bother you. If you are not learning anything useful and not enjoying the process at least some, it's not worth it. All it does is sap away your time and money. You are better off just getting out there and doing things for yourself. Life is too short to waste is on things that offer you nothing in return; not to mention that some of the happiest, most successful people out there, did so without a college degree.
